Terms of Service

Effective Date: June 1, 2026  ·  Last Updated: June 1, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of PermitSweep ("Service"), a registered trade name of Bright Blade LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What PermitSweep Is

PermitSweep is a subscription-based web service that aggregates publicly available permit records from participating government jurisdictions and presents them in a searchable, consolidated interface. We do not create, modify, or certify permit records. All underlying data originates from third-party public sources.

2. Accounts and Eligibility

2.1 You must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to enter into contracts to use the Service.

2.2 You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

2.3 You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account. Accounts created with false, misleading, or impersonated contractor or license information are subject to immediate termination without refund.

2.4 Locked Fields. For User-tier accounts, the contractor name and license number fields are set at account creation and may only be changed by PermitSweep administrators. This restriction exists to preserve the integrity of digest notifications and prevent abuse. If your information changes legitimately (e.g., license renewal, legal name change), contact us to request an update.

3. Subscription Tiers and Billing

3.1 Tiers. The Service is offered in the following paid tiers:

A limited Demo tier is available without authentication and is subject to search caps and feature restrictions.

3.2 Billing. Subscriptions are billed annually. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method for the applicable annual fee at the time of purchase and at each renewal.

3.3 Founder's Pricing. Accounts subscribed during the Founder's Pricing period receive a discounted rate locked to their account for as long as the subscription remains active and in good standing. Founder's Pricing is non-transferable, applies only to the subscribing account, and is forfeited upon cancellation or account termination. We reserve the right to end the Founder's Pricing enrollment period at any time.

3.4 No Refunds. All subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. If you cancel, your access continues through the end of your paid period.

3.5 Renewals. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 3 days before your renewal date. We will send a reminder email before charging your card.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

5. Data and Privacy

5.1 PermitSweep collects account information (name, email, contractor/license details) and usage data to operate the Service. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

5.2 Permit records surfaced by the Service are sourced from public government databases. We make no warranty that these records are complete, current, or error-free.

5.3 Digest emails are generated automatically based on your account settings. Delivery is not guaranteed and may be affected by factors outside our control, including jurisdiction data availability and email deliverability.

5.4 A full Privacy Policy governing data collection and retention is available at permitsweep.com/privacy and is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR ACCURACY OF DATA. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY PARTICULAR PERMIT RECORD WILL BE FOUND, RETURNED, OR CURRENT.

You acknowledge that permit data sourced from government jurisdictions may be delayed, incomplete, or unavailable, and that PermitSweep is not a substitute for directly verifying permit status with the issuing authority.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, BRIGHT BLADE LLC (DBA PERMITSWEEP) AND ITS MEMBERS, MANAGERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

8. Termination

8.1 We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or conduct that harms the Service or other users.

8.2 You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation does not entitle you to a refund.

8.3 Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases immediately. We may retain account data as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

9. Modifications to the Service or Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email to the address on file. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

We may also modify, suspend, or discontinue features of the Service at any time without liability.

10. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Washington State, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

11.2 Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force.

11.3 Waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms is not a waiver of our right to do so in the future.
